This has both pitch and timbre implications, and for most people requires long practice to solve. In our opinion, this particular clarinet is just about as fine an instrument as you'd find anywhere. Everything is clean and straight; with ALL new pads and corks. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. We are sure that both locations have their benefits. Reeds begin with a length of tube cane that is split into three or four pieces. It is difficult to say when the orchestra was invented because instruments have played together for many centuries. Woodwind refers to a group of instruments in which sound is produced by the vibration of reeds in the mouthpiece (such as with the clarinet, oboe or saxophone) or by the passing of air across the mouthpiece (such as with the flute.) Woodwind instruments have a long, thin column of air. The descending “sigh” steps that characterize this interlude reappear starting in measure 118, at the closing of the development, in solo oboe and bassoon responses to the strings.

By the mid-18th century, the bassoon's function in the orchestra was still mostly limited to that of a continuo instrument—since scores often made no specific mention of the bassoon, its use was implied, particularly if there were parts for oboes or other winds. But as with so many of the other saxophones, it fell from favor during the 1930's, and is only now experiencing a resurgence through the efforts of classical performers like Andreas van Zoelen and jazz players like Scott Robinson and James Carter.

This instrument will be available April 1, 2016. Air support - Good breath control is identical for all wind instruments and singing. But, the Bassoon does not create any dangerous measureable back pressure regardless of volume or range. The low register is very strong and sometimes heavy, the middle range is very sweet and expressive and the high end can be weak. But listen to your chords and, when in doubt, move about. I've been interested in trying some of the leather mutes I've seen from time to time as mine is felt.
